Limit intake of food rich in calories, oil and salt.
Regular Physical Activity : It has a variety of healthy benefits that can increase your health and longevity. Regular physical activity like 30 minutes off brisk walk or moderate exercises lowers the risk of chronic illness like diabetes, heart diseases while maintaining healthy bones. Exercises have been found to stimulate body production of endorphins, making you feel elated while also decreasing anxiety and stress.
Regular Health Checks: Proper preconception counselling should be taken before planning for pregnancy and regular antenatal checkups during pregnancy are must for healthy outcome of pregnancy. All women should get themselves vaccinated against human papilloma virus (for protection against cervical cancer).
Get a Pap Smear Test: Make sure you get a pap smear (screening test for cervical cancer) every 2-3 years. Screening through mammography should be started at the age of 40 for any cancerous changes in breast. Women with family history of cancer in their first or second degree relatives should consult their gynaecologist as early as possible.
