Both women and men can have problems that cause infertility. About 30% of infertility cases are caused by women’s problems. Another 30% of infertility problems are due to problem in male partner. The other cases are caused by a mixture of male and female problems or by unknown problems.
Causes of infertility in female:
Ovulatory Dysfunction: It caused by PCOD, decreased ovarian reserve, premature ovarian failure. Ovulatory dysfunction contributes to 30 to 40 % of female infertility.
Tubal Factor: Tubal factors accounts for 30 to 40% of infertility. Tubal factors include damage of fallopian tubes because of previous PID, previous pelvic or tubal surgery or endometriosis. Other causes of tubal damage include isthmica nodosa or benign polyps within tubal lumen.
