Flawless skin is what every woman longs for, but with the change in flow of hormones and environmental stress exposures a typical woman experiences on a monthly basis, it’s rare for anyone to not experience at least some of the common skin conditions in their life.  The most common conditions that every women deals with at some point of time are:

  • Acne: Acne is a skin disorder that causes pimples when the passageway that connects the skin’s pores to the oil glands becomes clogged. It caused due to factors like hormonal changes and heredity.
  • Solution: Wash the affected area gently with warm water and mild soap. Avoid scrubbing and squeezing blemishes. This will cause additional irritation of the skin and may lead to scarring. There are many excellent over-the-counter products for the treatment of acne. If your outbreak does not respond to them, seek medical treatment.
  • Psoriasis: Psoriasis is a chronic and disfiguring genetic disease. It is a buildup of excess skin tissue that looks red and thick and is covered with silvery scales. It occurs most commonly on the elbows and knees, but it can also occur anywhere on the body.

  • Solution: Keep the skin moisturized. Your doctor may prescribe ointments, oral medications or even light therapy, also called phototherapy, to treat the symptoms.
  • Stretch marks: Stretch marks can also occur due to rapid skin growth during pregnancy, puberty, muscle building or rapid weight gain. Stretch marks are most common in the stomach area but may also appear on the breasts, thighs, hips and buttocks.
  • Solution: Gentle massage and application of moisturizers can diminish light marks, however for severe marks, lasers or surgery has to be involved.
  • White spots: White spots are a sign of sun damage that has killed the melanocytes cells that produce color. It may lead to a more serious skin disorder called vitiligo, which is marked by white patches that slowly grow larger.
  • Skin solution: There’s no cure for the disorder, but treatments can restore some of the pigmentation. Dermatologists may advise topical or oral psoralen or Protopic, an anti-inflammatory ointment.
  • Rashes: Rashes are the most common skin condition one may experience in their life. In this condition small red bumps and hives develop and, if severe, large patches form and cause itching.
